Title: Pretty Girls
Song: Prozzak - Pretty Girls
Footage: DNAngel

This song was a great fit for the anime...i don't think i did it justice though. (I'm thinking justice more in terms of the manga because the jury is still out on the anime...i think they've taken too many liberties based on the popularity of the manga release 3 years ago, but then again that's just me, and I'm just a nerd that matches every wall i stand by.) For some reason i dumped Lunaretic Studios. Oh yeah! This one is supposed to be funny! :)

Title: The Beast In Me
Song: Nick Lowe - The Beast In Me
Footage: Princess Mononoke

i don't think this is one for the everyday amv crowd...in fact i think a majority of people are going to hate it more than enjoy it. oh well.
Materials: bagfuls of pretension, hot air.

Title: Dream On
Song: Aerosmith - Dream On
Footage: Adolescence Mokushiroku - Utena

Full credit to me for originality on my titles. I think I've found a good word to describe my amv's though...decadent. I used the original capture footage that I used in Driving Circles. (ultra-lazy? absolutely and without shame.) I think I'm continuing to progress in a positive direction in regards to my battle with interlacing. I don't know. this whole thing just seemed to flow, and i went to sleep with just a few nit picky things to change come sobriety. (j/k) I like it. it's rather depressing...so pack some sugar reserves. I like it though. alomost more than any of the others. you decide! This file is a fatty despite my efforts to streamline it's rotund cheekbytes...but then again, the song is almost 5 minutes long. I've watched it about 10 times with a fine toothed comb, and there are only 2ish spots that i'm unhappy with but and presently too lazy to change. :)

Title: Driving Circles
Song: Kristen Hersh - Your Ghost
Footage: Utena the Movie

This is very different from my first one. It's very dark, very slow. I would characterize both the pace of the video as well as the song as being akin to a smoothe even heartbeat. It has nothing to do with the finale of the movie (even though it contains finale footage...), but the struggles of Utena and Anthy throughout and up to the ending. I had many ideas for this footage, some that i still intend to tackle, but this one stuck with me for some reason. perhaps because i went through a phase with this song a long time ago. I'm still not perfect with timing and editing (ha! understatement alert! we have been dinged by an ObviousFlyby) but that's what practice is for. video learning expereince: ripping from dvds! be on the lookout for a second version of this one as soon as I figure out how to deal with those damned venetian blinds that keep flipping me off throughout the video.

Title: Yesterday
Song: Beatles - Yesterday
Footage: Tokyo Babylon, X Manga

I think with this stab I'm finally getting the hang of ripping. in Utena there were a lot of problems with interlacing and getting the picture to look smoothe. with this one i discovered that i actually CAN fiddle with original settings and make things look better. After taking a little break and rewatching what I've done, I've noticed somethings about how i put things together too...i don't like starting music with the picture for some reason. I don't think you really notice it, but it's just strange. I also like a lot of layers...most of the time to my disadvantage as opposed to advantage. I'm no longer as curious about boxed effects as I was in the beginning...with the cowboy bebop amv, i was trying out every setting and effect i could find. i think with this one, though i tried something that i'd want to continue with future videos. I put a lot of captures from the X and Tokyo Babylon manga's in with the anime footage. **SPOILER WARNING** SPOILER WARNING** Do NOT download this video if you have not read all of Tokyo Babylon (or at least do not know what happens in the end) and if you have not read up to the 18th tankubon in X. I have an image taken from even that one, but you'd only know the signifigance if you've read up to that point...it's not crucial, but the ones from tankubon 16 are very crucial and you'll hate me for a long long time if you find out this way. Otherwise, if you have read, or don't care about being spoiled one way or another, I hope you enjoy! I made a mistake with this one...i started editing one night and was on fire. everything was perfect. then i decided to go to bed with a bit in the middle still left open. I knew if i didn't finish it at that point it would turn out kind of bad, but i went to bed anyhow. thus you have the overabundance of layers in this one near the middle and end. cae cera cera..
